Commissions Unit: Critical Reflections

Good points:

Me and Roxanne worked well together throughout this project. As Roxanne was the producer she did all the organising of the film and she was well prepared seen as we changed our topic for the documentary at the last moment but we managed to film very soon and the food bank was very keen and they were very nice people, because i was the editor and camera person Roxanne did all the preproduction everything up to the shoot and i took over and did everything after so it went very smoothly.
Overall i am happy with the end result and i believe we did everything we could have.

Bad points:

After making many changes and exporting the documentary 3 times and handing the project in Roxanne found a mistake in the sound, this could have been changed and re-submitted but that meant trying to export and burn the disk again and this took 3 hours the night before so we decided to leave it and have some critiques instead.
During the processes there was a lot of heated discussions between me and Roxanne as we both are head strong and want what is best for the documentary.

This was the first Title Sequence that was made by there is a slight mistake where the man we got to help spelt Roxanne's name wrong. 

So this is take 2 with the correct spelling and the one we have used in the Documentary, but we added a background in the Final Cut Pro for the Documentary.

This Documentary is about people in Brent who are struggling with the cuts in benefits and some having to move in a different home that is cheaper to live. This helped give a new perspective on our documentary as this is set out by the BBC and our's should have similar characteristics.

I made a ruff cut ready to show Ian the project manager so he could see what the documentary is going to sound like but the cutaways were not quite finished or in the right places, also the commentary needs to be re-recorded.

Roxanne made a fake letter and i used my own drivers license but just blurred to go in our documentary to show what the food bank check.

I looked into putting pictures into the documentary of Doctors and social workers as a cutaway to show using visual rather than just audio.

This is the commentary, once the script was done i wrote out all the commentary that was going to be said so i could record it all at the same time.
