Studio Production: Show Day

After all this extensive hard work from everyone and all the workshops, which I have been participating in as a panelist the day(the show) is over.
The day started early and everyone was on edge and busy, me and my team of first years were keeping busy with little jobs before the main ones started so I had Adele help me with the guest list and reserved seating, so I could give the studios the list of people attending, we had certain seats for the guests that starred in the VT's which would be on camera.
We had a meeting with the safety guys to be briefed as 2 of the first years would be in the car park, plus we had to know where the fire point was and to wear high visor's so we wouldn't get run over and people knew who we was.
The audience tent was set up with posters and Robyn, who was our warm up act, and I taught my other 2 first years how to use the ticket app so when guests came to the door.
This all rushed by and before I knew it, it was show time and to bring the audience into the studio, I had prepared the first years of where to stand so no-one went the wrong way and me and Laura communicated so we both knew what was going on as she helped me out.
I am pleased with how the day went and i think everyone enjoyed it and we will all miss it, there was a few problems as a women walked out and shouted in the studio as it was really cold unfortunately, this could not be helped though as we had to put the heated away as they put an orange tinge on the camera but are health and safety too.
Apart from this and the road closer which didn't real affect us as most people turned up and we only had a few empty seats, as the M20 was closed at the studios junction we thought we would have delays in people arriving so we was prepared to delay but it all went well.

Interviews

I didn’t arrange the interviews Kelly did as she mainly produce the whole video and organized everything. In total there was 7 people that we interviewed and we decided to do them all on the same day, this was done at Medway Hospital as Kelly felt this was the best place especially as Ranjit was a busy man and we could fit his interview in between patients. I did feel a bit of pressure as I am had to make sure the image was prefect and sound was really good and the clip mic’s were working etc. my only job was to film the interviews, so I had a two camera set up with two microphones, I had the sony recording the sound and the wide shot of the interview and a canon to do a close-upon the interviews, this gave me more of a range of shots for the interview.

Kelly produced this film and organized the interviews and I was responsible for the visuals and if I thought something would look good I would show Kelly but sound and the second camera was my responsibility to make sure I didn’t mess up and ruin the film.

Each interview was set up the same but as I had 7 people we changed which side they was on the screen so we had 3 mothers and Kelly on the left side and the other 3 on the right side. They were each colour corrected so they would all be the same colour, the only problem I had was that I filled the cards up so fortunately I brought my mac so I could dig the footage in between interviews.

Studio Production: Website

This is the screenshot of the Home page of the website, this has the poll's (as you can see) as the first thing people will see just so they vote, underneath this shows the date, time and location of the show so people will see that first.
the next page of about us has 2 sub-pages the first has a picture of everyone in the class with all our bio's, the only criticism about this is that some people didn't send me a bio for themselves so it looks weird as some are just blank, then there is another page which tells people about the show.
More page will have the vines, behind the scenes and maybe even the trailer when they are done, there is also a contact us page and a tickets page which are labeled so that people fins the website easy and efficient.

Studio Production: Facebook

Once we finished with the logo we could start publicise by creating social media sites such as Facebook, I was going to create a Facebook account for the show but found out from Sam that I can create a page on my own Facebook for the show and make the team admin so everyone can do stuff on it. This was easy all I had to do was add the logo as the profile picture and write a bit about the show now people can share it to get the word out.

I made everyone in the Promo team Admin so that we could all post and edit the page, Lex did the profile picture and the cover photo, I did most of the information and am starting to post pictures from our works shops the auditions etc. this is so people can see what we are up to and when we get close we can do a count down and pictures of set etc.

Studio Production: Stickers

I emailed the sticker company to see if they would send us a sample with our logo on it, a sample of like 4 stickers as thats all we need and i got this reply:

I am really pleased with this reply as we was only after 4 stickers and they are giving us 35 free stickers which was a surprised.

Studio Production: Sticker Research

One of my jobs for promoting is to make stickers which will be stuck on the 4 iPads to cover the apple logo and if we get a big bundle we will distribute them to promote the show everywhere, like the poster. 

I did some research to different websites to see where i could get stickers the cheapest and a smaller bundle as we only really need 5 stickers but from research we can't get a smaller bundle than 70 per sheet, from the sticker factor online. 

This is from moo.com, they offer a variety compared to the sticker factory but they are more expensive and come in bundles of 100 and we don't need that many but we don't know the quality difference.

I ordered a free sample pack from moo.com to see what there products are like and where they are any good for what we need. 

This is a picture of the pack that they sent, the stickers are a good size and quality plus they sent us what the business cards look like as we will need these once we start getting ourselves out there, which will be soon.

This is the second script for the video with only a few changes and missed out parts, this is the new script and I don't feel like it is fully finished yet.

Professional Practice: Memorial Garden

This is the memorial garden give to the charity by the cathedral, this picture are of the garden from when the cathedral gave the site to Kelly in this state, Kelly has a team who week by week will be clearing this site to create a beautiful garden for mothers who lose their babies and want a safe place. This is before the team have cleared anything.

Here is the photos from the workshop with Hans Petch, there is some form the studio and others front the gallery, we all pretty much did the jobs we will be doing in the actual show so people could practice to make the show as good as possible. 

Studio Production: Style Bible

Style Bible

I was given the job of the style bible but i couldn't create it by myself i needed the help of the class to give me the details to put in the bible, such as the directors giving me the set design, logo people giving me the colour and font design. I then put it all together to make a book so the CAFT team would be able to create the set easier for us.
