Professional Practice: Interview Questions

With Kelly's help we managed to come up with questions for each person we want to interview, whether its voice or video as one of the mums that wouldn't mind being a case study but as she lives in america she will be sending a voice interview for the promo video.

Commissions Unit: Consent forms

These are all 7 of the consent forms from who we will be interviewing.
Hayley is one of the trusties of Kelly's and will be telling her story of her miscarriage and premature baby.

Ranjit is/was Kelly's doctor at the feral unit who specialises in issues such as premature of heart conditions and he helps and supports mothers through their difficult pregnancies.

Kelly is the founder and chair of the charity and will be telling her story for the first time.

Rebecca is a mother who has been through so many pregnancies which have not worked out for her, she got in touch with Kelly for this interview and to tell her story.

Marion is the specialist midwife at the feral unit and works with Ranjit and all his patients to give them all the support they need.

Katie is also a trustee of Making Miracles and a personal friend to Kelly, she has her own story to tell which doesn't end happy.

Eva again got in contact with Kelly to tell her story and to make aware of problems that she went through of only one twin surviving which most people have not herd of.

All of these consent forms were filled out by Kelly as she was the one who sorted out the interviews and who she wanted to tell their story for the film, so i sent her the forms and she made sure they were filled in before the film is to happen.

Studio Production: Vine

The idea of making vines for the show was Charlie's as he watches a lot of vines and they can be used to publicise so we thought we would try one out. The idea for the first one was to tease the audience and make them want to watch but with giving nothing about the show away.

This is the main image during the vine, we decided to use the logo and not to give to much away which is why there is a question mark and an empty sofa, we made sure we used the same sofa as will be used in the show for consistency.
The bad thing about this vine is it doesn't look as perfection all as it can as the logo spins just after this bit which I feel looks tacky and the hashtag also swing which it doesn't need to, but I think the rest looks good except it's a vine/short video so it should have some movement as it's just still images so far but maybe for the next vine it will be better.

Studio Production: Poster

This is the poster that was created by Chris from the idea that Sam M. came up with which was decided the class liked but the poster needs improvements which the class came up with as no one understood what the silhouettes are suppose to be doing, the good points are the logo, colours scheme and the uni logos but the improvements are the hashtag is too small the date isn't specific enough and also the poster doesn't look like it s promoting a TV show. The improvements discussed will be changed and hopefully the poster will be ready for distribution next week.

Commissions Unit: Research into the Charity

Making Miracles is a charity set up y founder and chair Kelly Wells a year ago, after going through a traumatic pregnancy where she nearly lost her second baby. Going trough this inspired her to set up a place of support for other mums/parents who go through the same experience or similar, when Kelly went through hers she didn't have anybody for support and was feeling very lonely so she decided that she didn't want others to go through the same/similar experience which is where the charity idea came from, because first was the summer dreams support group but to really help people Kelly needed money which is what the charity does, raise money to support the feral unit at medway hospital.

This is the website address and below is everything about the charity from the website and from Kelly:

We aim to support parents, fundraise for Fetal Medicine Unit’s and raise awareness whilst helping to provide research so we can help lower the rates of miscarriage, stillbirth and birth defects.
We believe every mother deserves the chance to receive the best care and support during and after their pregnancy and also never be turned away from a hospital because of their complications. In situations where pregnancies end traumatically, we want to ensure that the parents are offered bereavement counselling and supported fully on their journey to achieve a successful pregnancy next time, should they wish.
We are currently fundraising heavily, holding a variety of events and are looking for corporate sponsorship
1.Support parents through their own and very individual journey. We can help process the news, listen to any fears or concerns, give examples of other people’s experiences and finally provide professional counselling where it is needed. Summer Dreams Support Group has a text-back & phone service, buddying & chaperone service and an online discussion board & forum.

2. Fundraise to help Fetal Medicine Units purchase very expensive, specialist and high-tech equipment that the NHS does not have a statutory duty to provide yet is necessary to identify symptoms earlier and more effectively. This will, in turn, improve the mother and infants medical care and treatment plan. It also will help hospital units ensure that they can welcome specialist cases and make sure no one is turned away.

3.Research and increase awareness and support with any relevant studies and development into the investigation of birth defects, miscarriage and stillbirth so more effective intervention may be established in the future.

Summer dreams

When you have been trying for a much wanted baby and you find out that you are pregnant it is the best feeling in the world. No one wants to think about the possibility of not leaving the hospital nine months later with a healthy baby in a car seat, returning home to the beautifully decorated nursery and having everyone come to visit.

The truth is there are a number of women, too many in my opinion, that don’t get this “luxury nine month experience” Whether they go through the pregnancy aware of health conditions or, if it is a total shock when they go into labour, or worse when a baby passes away during the pregnancy or birth - these women suffer. Society does not want to think about them, it’s not a nice thing to try to imagine.

Summer Dreams Support Group is part of Making Miracles. Summer Dreams is here for mums, for families and for each other. We have people, who understand and know what mums are dealing with, how it affects them, their partner and actually the entire family. We have an online forum and are working to develop a text and phone service, a buddying service, a chaperone service and a counselling service. Visit www.summerdreamssupport.co.uk

Professional Practice Commission: Script + Locations

The Locations that have been discussed and are in the script are the Hospital at Medway, which will include the ward and the stall and the Garden memorial in Rochester.

The script is a rough from all the information I have been given by the organiser Kelly, but I am pleased with it as a first script and will work with Kelly to make a better and more detailed plan along with a production schedule.
