FOLKESTONE:

Folkestone is a sea side town on the coast of the English channel with a harbour, situated on the east coast of England.

Originally Folkestone did not have a harbour but because of storms and being hard to bring in boats they commissioned to build the harbour to increase the trade across the Channel.

Folkestone has many points of interest and places to see from the Battle of Britain Museum, the harbour, seaside and more. You can even see the white cliff of Dover as that is just down the coast line from Folkestone.

Folkestone is having it's Triennial at the moment which lasts from september to november 2nd, this happens every 3 years and helps with Folkestone's regeneration.

Most recently Folkestone has been going through a regeneration to modernise the town and make it more of a tourist detonation, the Triennial brings artists together to make Folkestone an art place but this year the Triennial had a mini Celebrity appear by the name of Banksy. Banksy is know for his street art which features all over the world, Banksy has only done a couple pieces in Kent before,  previously in Dungeness. This piece has been drawing in tourists and putting Folkestone back on the map.

The Triennial this year has some interesting pieces with Yoko Ono doing her bit on a advertisement board, saying earth peace. A young artist has been creative and placed a sculpture on the harbour floor which can only been scene when the tide goes out.
