Digital News Production: Ideas

Our group got together and discussed some ideas for the stories we want to cover.
Some of our ideas include:

Talking to experts in the field of our chosen stories are they won't be biased

Interviews with people involved/affected by the story - including the public or passers by

We are thinking of using a 2 camera set up of different angles so we can see the presenter and person but also a close up of just the person too

We had an idea of a 4 minute piece with the 2 minute studio presenter introducing the story and maybe talking to an expert then go to location to see whats happened etc, depending on the story

We also thought of having the 2 minute studio package as the presenter will talk about a few short stories happening then go to the on location presenter with our chosen story

We also had an idea of having someone doing the weather while the credits role on screen

We looked at some of the stories that are in the news in Maidstone at the moment and chose a couple that we think we could use:

• Teen drink got spiked- this would target teenagers going to parties and drinking plus parents 
• Drunk women walks free after stabbing her husband - this targets women and men and makes aware the risks of drinking 
• Music festival will not return - this targets youths 
• Government needs to find 5000 more spaces for schools - this targets mothers trying to get there kids into schools nearby 

We still need to chose the genre for our channel and this will help us decide on our stories.
